HOW MUCH DOES YACHT CHARTER IN CROATIA COST?

So, you’ve made the exciting decision to set sail in Croatia. Now, it’s time to choose the right charter company and sailboat. Of course, you want the best value for your money.

BOAT CHARTER PRICE

The list price of a boat, found on the charter company’s website, covers a one-week (Saturday-to-Saturday) boat rental. It also includes the boat’s inventory, VAT (13%), and sometimes berths in the base marina, like our Fair Wind offers.

However, comparing list prices isn’t the easiest way to determine your best option. Pricing varies for various reasons, and you should consider all these factors:

  • Boat’s Age: Newer boats often come at a higher price, but don’t be fooled. Sometimes, older boats in better condition can offer a more enjoyable experience.

  • Seasonal Variation: Prices fluctuate based on the season. In the low season, you can find more affordable options, while the mid and high seasons come with higher rates.

  • Boat Size: The bigger the boat, the higher the cost. Choose the size that suits your crew and comfort preferences.

  • Location/Base Marina: The marina’s popularity and proximity to airports or historical towns affect prices. For instance, ACI Marina Split, located near Split’s historical attractions, may come at a higher cost.

  • Booking Timing: Pay attention to discounts like Early Booking and Last-Minute offers, which can significantly reduce the list price. Plan your booking accordingly.

  • Boat Type: Decide between a catamaran and a monohull. Monohulls are typically more budget-friendly, but consider your crew’s needs and sailing preferences.

OTHER COSTS

When budgeting, remember that there are additional expenses:

  • Charter Pack: This mandatory extra varies among charter companies. For Fair Wind, charter pack prices range from 280€ for boats up to 380€ for catamarans. It includes VAT, cleaning, bed linen, towels, gas, and more.

  • Tourist Tax: Expect to pay 1.33€/person/night. Children under 12 and those with over 69% disability are exempt, while 12-18-year-olds pay half.

  • Fuel: This cost depends on your route and hours of sailing versus motoring but usually from 150€ for monohulls to 250€ for catamarans.

  • Mooring: Prices vary based on mooring type, location, season, and boat size. For example, marina/harbor mooring can range from 80€/night for a small sailboat in the low season to 300€/night for a 40ft catamaran in the high season.

  • Security Deposit: This refundable deposit covers insurance deductible. Check the charter company’s website for specific amounts or deposit waiver options.

EXTRA/OPTIONAL COSTS

Consider optional extras offered by your charter company:

  • Stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, donuts, extra snorkel sets, beach towels, and Wi-Fi.

  • Crew Services: If no one in your crew is a skipper or has a sailing license, you can hire a professional skipper at 1,260€/week plus meals. For added comfort, consider a hostess for meal preparation and cleaning, 1.260€ plus meals, depending on crew size.
