About the boat

The Lagoon 400S2 “Second Wind” is a popular choice for guests who want the comfort and space of a catamaran without going into the “floating villa” category. At just under 12 metres, it’s big enough to feel generous, but still easy to handle around islands, bays, and marinas.

With four double cabins, each with its own bathroom, plus two small bow cabins for crew and extra berths in the saloon if needed, “Second Wind” works very well for mixed groups and families who appreciate privacy and a bit of personal space.

The boat is based in Split ACI Marina, perfectly positioned for classic routes towards Hvar, Brač, Vis, Šolta, Korčula and the surrounding islands.

Comfort & layout

Life on board “Second Wind” is centred around the large cockpit and bright saloon. Thanks to the wide beam of the catamaran, the cockpit feels like an outdoor living room – shaded, comfortable, and directly connected to the saloon on the same level. It’s where most guests spend their time: long breakfasts, lazy afternoons at anchor, and relaxed evenings under the stars.

Inside, the saloon has big vertical windows that let in plenty of natural light and give a good view of the sea while you’re under way or at anchor. The galley is practical and well equipped for a week on board, with everything you need for preparing meals.

Below deck, each hull has two double cabins with en-suite bathrooms, which means:

  • Everyone has their own cabin door to close

  • No queues for the bathroom in the morning

  • A good balance of shared and private space

Two small bow cabins are available for crew (skipper and/or hostess) or as extra sleeping options if needed. There is also the possibility to use the saloon as an additional berth, but most guests prefer to keep it as a shared living area.

Air conditioning in the saloon, generator, and solar panels add an extra layer of comfort and independence, especially in the warmer months.

On deck & at anchor

On deck, “Second Wind” offers plenty of places for everyone to spread out:

  • Large cockpit with table, seating and shade – ideal for meals and social time

  • Wide side decks and foredeck for moving safely around the boat

  • Trampoline at the bow – favourite spot for sunbathing or watching the stars

  • Stern platform with ladder and deck shower for easy dips in the sea

The helm is slightly raised, giving the skipper good visibility without being too far from the rest of the crew. It’s a comfortable setup for both relaxed cruising and a bit more active sailing.

Sailing & performance

The Lagoon 400S2 is designed as a comfortable cruising catamaran. It’s not a racing boat – and doesn’t pretend to be – but it sails very pleasantly:

  • Two hulls give extra stability, which many families and first-time sailors appreciate

  • A wide beam means the boat feels steady under way and at anchor

  • Twin engines make manoeuvring in marinas and tight spaces more relaxed

With a full-batten mainsail and furling genoa, the sail plan is simple and practical. Guests who are used to monohulls usually enjoy the different feel: less heeling, lots of space, and the ability to sit comfortably with a coffee while under sail.

If you charter with a skipper, they’ll adapt the sailing to your crew – from very gentle “holiday mode” to more active sailing days when the wind and mood are right.

Who is this catamaran ideal for?

“Second Wind” is a great fit for:

  • Families with children who want extra stability and space to move around

  • Groups of friends who value privacy (4 cabins with en-suite bathrooms)

  • Couples travelling together who each want their own cabin and bathroom

  • Guests who prefer comfort over performance racing

  • First-time sailors in Croatia who feel more comfortable on a stable platform

You can charter the boat bareboat, with a skipper, or as a crewed charter with both skipper and hostess, depending on your experience and how relaxed you’d like your holiday to be.

To charter the Lagoon 400S2 Second Wind bareboat in Croatia, you need a valid sailing licence and a VHF certificate that comply with Croatian regulations.

If you are comfortable handling sailing yachts or catamarans of around 40 feet and used to manoeuvring in marinas, you should be fine with Wind Seeker. If you’re unsure, you can always add a skipper for the whole week – or just for the first day or two, to help you settle in.

Yes. The stable platform, wide cockpit and plenty of space make this boat very family-friendly. There’s room for kids to move around, and the layout works well for multi-generational families or two families travelling together.

For first-time visitors to Croatia, a catamaran like this often feels like a “floating apartment” – comfortable, spacious, and easy to enjoy even if not everyone is passionate about sailing.

Yes, you can book Second Wind:

The skipper is responsible for sailing, safety, and route planning, and will gladly suggest bays, moorings, and restaurants that fit your wishes. The hostess prepares breakfast and light lunch, helps with tidying common areas and generally makes your holiday smoother and more relaxed.

For crewed charters, the skipper and hostess each need their own cabin or a suitable berth. They also need three proper meals per day (at least one hot meal), provided by the guests

The boat has 4 double cabins + 4 bathrooms, plus two additional bow berths.

For the best comfort, we recommend:

  • Up to 8 guests in the main cabins

  • If you add skipper and/or hostess, they usually use the bow berths or one of the cabins, depending on configuration and your preferences

There is also seating space in the saloon and cockpit where people can relax during the day.

For a catamaran, yes. Twin engines and the wide beam give you good control at low speed, and the raised helm provides clear visibility of bows and stern.

If it’s your first time with a catamaran or first time in Croatia, we’re happy to go over local docking tips at check-in and share advice about marinas and mooring fields on your planned route.

To confirm your booking, a 50% payment is made at the time of reservation.
The remaining 50% is due four weeks before the start of your charter.
Payments can be made by bank transfer or credit card, and all transactions are fully secured.
If you book closer to your charter date, the full amount is paid at once.
We’ll guide you through each step so the process is simple and stress-free.

If your plans change, please let us know as soon as possible. Our cancellation terms follow standard Croatian charter rules and depend on how far in advance you cancel:

  • More than 32 days before charter: 50% of the charter price is kept.

  • 31 days or fewer: 100% of the charter price is kept.

We always recommend purchasing travel cancellation insurance in your home country to protect your trip in case of unexpected situations.

A refundable security deposit of 3.500 € is required for all charters on this boat. It serves as coverage for the insurance deductible in case of damage during your trip.

The deposit is usually taken as a credit-card pre-authorisation at check-in (or in cash if preferred). After your charter, once the boat has been checked and everything is in order, the deposit is released in full. For most guests, this is just a formality.

Yes. Instead of leaving the full refundable deposit, you can choose a deposit waiver / deposit insurance:

For Lagoon 40 “Wind Seeker”, the amount is 350 € non-refundable + 350 € refundable per week.

The refundable part (350 €) is returned at the end of the charter if there is no damage.
If you buy the deposit waiver, you don’t leave the 3.500 € deposit.

Yes, the boat is fully covered by casco insurance and third-party liability insurance.

The security deposit (or deposit waiver) covers the insurance deductible – any damage up to that amount is not covered by insurance and is taken from the deposit. Anything above the deductible is covered by the insurance policy.
