About the boat
The Lagoon 400S2 “Second Wind” is a popular choice for guests who want the comfort and space of a catamaran without going into the “floating villa” category. At just under 12 metres, it’s big enough to feel generous, but still easy to handle around islands, bays, and marinas.
With four double cabins, each with its own bathroom, plus two small bow cabins for crew and extra berths in the saloon if needed, “Second Wind” works very well for mixed groups and families who appreciate privacy and a bit of personal space.
The boat is based in Split ACI Marina, perfectly positioned for classic routes towards Hvar, Brač, Vis, Šolta, Korčula and the surrounding islands.
Comfort & layout
Life on board “Second Wind” is centred around the large cockpit and bright saloon. Thanks to the wide beam of the catamaran, the cockpit feels like an outdoor living room – shaded, comfortable, and directly connected to the saloon on the same level. It’s where most guests spend their time: long breakfasts, lazy afternoons at anchor, and relaxed evenings under the stars.
Inside, the saloon has big vertical windows that let in plenty of natural light and give a good view of the sea while you’re under way or at anchor. The galley is practical and well equipped for a week on board, with everything you need for preparing meals.
Below deck, each hull has two double cabins with en-suite bathrooms, which means:
Everyone has their own cabin door to close
No queues for the bathroom in the morning
A good balance of shared and private space
Two small bow cabins are available for crew (skipper and/or hostess) or as extra sleeping options if needed. There is also the possibility to use the saloon as an additional berth, but most guests prefer to keep it as a shared living area.
Air conditioning in the saloon, generator, and solar panels add an extra layer of comfort and independence, especially in the warmer months.
On deck & at anchor
On deck, “Second Wind” offers plenty of places for everyone to spread out:
Large cockpit with table, seating and shade – ideal for meals and social time
Wide side decks and foredeck for moving safely around the boat
Trampoline at the bow – favourite spot for sunbathing or watching the stars
Stern platform with ladder and deck shower for easy dips in the sea
The helm is slightly raised, giving the skipper good visibility without being too far from the rest of the crew. It’s a comfortable setup for both relaxed cruising and a bit more active sailing.
Sailing & performance
The Lagoon 400S2 is designed as a comfortable cruising catamaran. It’s not a racing boat – and doesn’t pretend to be – but it sails very pleasantly:
Two hulls give extra stability, which many families and first-time sailors appreciate
A wide beam means the boat feels steady under way and at anchor
Twin engines make manoeuvring in marinas and tight spaces more relaxed
With a full-batten mainsail and furling genoa, the sail plan is simple and practical. Guests who are used to monohulls usually enjoy the different feel: less heeling, lots of space, and the ability to sit comfortably with a coffee while under sail.
If you charter with a skipper, they’ll adapt the sailing to your crew – from very gentle “holiday mode” to more active sailing days when the wind and mood are right.
Who is this catamaran ideal for?
“Second Wind” is a great fit for:
Families with children who want extra stability and space to move around
Groups of friends who value privacy (4 cabins with en-suite bathrooms)
Couples travelling together who each want their own cabin and bathroom
Guests who prefer comfort over performance racing
First-time sailors in Croatia who feel more comfortable on a stable platform
You can charter the boat bareboat, with a skipper, or as a crewed charter with both skipper and hostess, depending on your experience and how relaxed you’d like your holiday to be.
